Expressions of Interest are now open for the Tamworth Regional Youth Council, and the Youth Radio Program, both run by Tamworth Regional Council.
The Youth Council is a representative body of young people in the Tamworth Region which acts as an advisory body for Tamworth Regional Council on youth issues.
Young people are asked to commit to a term of two years on the advisory body, meeting each month to discuss issues in the community. There are currently 20 people aged between 15 and 18 on the council.
The Youth Council has a direct say in how Council manages issues that matter to them and inform the development of Council’s Youth Strategy.
More information and how to apply is available on Council’s website https://www.tamworth.nsw.gov.au/about/the-council/youth-council
Expressions of interest are also open for the 2023 Youth Radio Program. This initiative allows teens aged 14-16 to learn about radio broadcasting from the Regional Youthie.
The 20 week program provides great experience in radio broadcasting mentored by an experienced station manager.
