With the first term of the 2023 school year fast approaching, parents are being reminded to tap into several vouchers aimed at easing the cost of living for local families.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the $150 Back to School vouchers, the $500 Before and After School Care vouchers, and the $100 Active and Creative Kids Vouchers were now open for applications, meaning local families can cut the cost of getting back to school.
“We know that Back-to-school can cost families in excess of $600 per child which can really hit the back pocket after the expensive Christmas and school holiday period,” Mr Anderson said.
“That’s why the NSW Government has renewed the Active Kids, Creative Kids and Back to School vouchers for 2023, putting cash back into the pocket of young families and allowing them to spend their hard earned on what matters.
“There are plenty of providers ready to accept your Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers locally and it’s a great opportunity to expose our kids to something new this year.
A great deal of discussion about the vouchers on social media reveals that most stores will take the vouchers in store, including most school uniform shops, but not all stores will accept them online. Some stores will also not allow refunds or store credit for products bought with the vouchers. A list of where the vouchers can be used is in the Service NSW app.
“Parents and guardians have until the end of the month the claim their vouchers so I would encourage any local families to take advantage of the program as soon as possible by getting on the Service NSW app or website and filling out the form to claim their vouchers.
First Lap Learn to Swim vouchers are also available, as well as other rebates available to those who may be struggling with the cost of living.
