Grazing on the Gwydir is set to highlight the best in local food, business and entertainment from the Bingara area on March 18.
Stall holders are currently being sought for the lates event in the New England to showcase our locally manufactured food and other goods, similar to Seasons of New England. Grazing on the Gwydir has been started by the Bingara Business Support Group, one of the first initiatives of the group founded in 2020. The aim of the group is to promote the positive aspect to shopping and doing business in Bingara and its surrounding areas by supporting each other and sharing ideas, unite the town, and make Bingara a destination.
The event, which was first held in 2021, is run by the group with support from Lions and the Gwydir Shire Council, and a NSW government grant.
This year the Grazing on the Gwydir event will take over Maitland Street, the main street in Bingara, between 9.30am – 1pm on Saturday 18 March. There will be lots of market stalls, chalk art, live entertainment and great food.
This will be followed by more live music in the afternoon in Junction Park, with Contingency Plan and Natalie Baker performing from 2pm until 6pm, and more great food stalls. Head down to the magnificent Gwydir River with your picnic rug and chairs and relax the afternoon away.
The event will be free for both stall holders and those wishing to attend, however all stall holders must register to secure a site. Local food and produce stalls are particularly encouraged to get involved.
Application forms for the sites can be downloaded from the Gwydir Shire Council site https://www.gwydir.nsw.gov.au/Council/Events-Directory/Grazing-on-the-Gwydir. Stall bookings can be made with the Bingara Visitor Information Centre on 02 6724 0066.
