For the first time in five years, the Glen Innes Pasture Update is back.

Glen Innes Natural Resources Advisory Committee (GLENRAC) is a community driven organisation working on sustainable agriculture, natural resource management and community capacity building projects within the Glen Innes region and wider community for over 30 years. After delays due to drought and the Covid-19 pandemic, GLENRAC, DPI and Grasslands Society NSW have been hard at work getting this event up and running again.

This event is free and open to all, so lock in the date: 22nd March 2023 at the Glen Innes Agricultural Research Station. This year’s topic focusses on ‘building a resilient pasture feedbase’. The morning will be filled with a range of presentations from experts in the field, followed by an afternoon touring the Ag Stations pasture experiments.

Presentations include ‘More meat, less methane’ from Sarah Baker, a Pasture Development Officer with NSW DPI based at the Tamworth Agricultural Institute.

Carol Harris, Research Scientist located at the Agricultural Research & Advisory Station Glen Innes, will present on ‘Resilient legumes’.

‘Mixed annual forages for the Northern Tablelands’ is the topic of the third presentation by Andrew Faithful, also from the Ag Station.

And finally, Jaimi-lee Edwards will be giving an update on the new UNE Resilient Pastures project which is focusing on pasture management and the use of Ag360 to assist with on farm planning and management across the Northern Tablelands.

The day will kick off at 9:30am, with lunch served at 12pm and pasture tours set to start at 1pm. Both morning tea and lunch are included.

Be sure to RSVP to Emma on 02 6732 3443 or at emma.tilley@glenrac.org.au by Monday 20th March.
