Are you a local Aboriginal artist? Get ready for a series of local events to share your art with a wider audience.
Arts North West are hosting a series of ‘Gather and Trade’ Aboriginal artisan micro market days throughout the New England North West during May and June of 2023, inviting First Nations artists, craftspeople, cultural artisans to submit an expression of interest to have a stall and be part of the events.
“This is a great opportunity for local Aboriginal creatives to sell their art and products and reach a wide audience to promote their goods and practices” said Arts North West Executive Director, Lauren Mackley.
“We know the New England North West has a strong creative First Nations footprint and we are excited to provide this platform to showcase our incredibly talented First Nations creatives.”
The dates and locations for the ‘Gather and Trade’ days are:
- 1.00pm – 4.00pm in Glen Innes on Saturday 6 May, 2023 at Coomarah Cultural Centre, 8 MacKenzie St, Glen Innes
- 9.00am – 1.00pm in Wallabadah on Sunday 28 May, 2023 at Art Shack @ Wilgabah, 107 Baldocks Rd, Wallabadah
- 8.00am – 1.30pm in Narrabri on Saturday 3 June, 2023 at The Narrabri Rotary Markets, Corner of Dangar Street and Selina Street, Narrabri
- 9.00am – 1.00pm in Tenterfield on Sunday 18 June, 2023 at Gunimaa Nursery, 34 Railway Ave, Tenterfield

The expressions of interest will close two weeks prior to each market event and each stall holder requires Public Liability insurance. Each stall holder is paid $200 to attend each event, to cover travel, accommodation, and other expenses.
