Tamworth Regional Council has applied to shift the Hillvue and Warral boundary line, to make the proposed Arcadia Estate completely in Hillvue territory.
“Essentially at the Arcadia Estate, where the new subdivision is proposed to go, the boundary line of Hillvue and Warral is split straight down the middle, so the adjustment is to move Hillvue out to Burgmanns Lane to allow for some consistency within the estate.” said Sam Lobsey, Manager Development, Tamworth Regional Council.
“This will make the whole Acadia Estate within Hillvue.”
Council says only a few landholders will be affected and have corresponded with them prior to the application.
If approved, the changes will be a benefit to a number of services.
“It will help with emergency services and postal services.”
The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on the proposal to gauge community sentiment for the proposed changes.
“An important element of determining boundaries is endeavouring to meet the approval of affected residents and to reflect local usage.” Said Narelle Underwood, Chair of the Geographical Names Board.
“We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to provide their feedback on the proposal.”
Details of the proposal can be viewed and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board’s website from 23 June until 23 July 2023.
