The CMAA Academy of Country Music kicked off its 12-day Senior Course yesterday, providing life-changing experiences for emerging country music artists from around the world.
Held in the lead-up to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, this one-of-a-kind music and business intensive course is set to empower and educate aspiring talents. Throughout the program, students will engage in an array of activities, including workshops, co-writing sessions, jam sessions, and meet with industry professionals. Award-winning artists will share their insights and expertise both in-person and via virtual sessions, covering a wide range of topics vital to creating a career in music.
Led by Academy Director Lyn Bowtell and General Manager Roger Corbett with group leaders Kevin Bennett, Mickey Pye, Melody Moko, and Liam Kennedy-Clark, this year’s program promises a rich and diverse learning experience for all involved.
Academy Director and Golden Guitar winner Lyn Bowtell is excited about the upcoming 12-day journey.
“The Academy is a life-changing experience where students not only hone their craft but also form lifelong connections and networks within the country music industry,” she said.
“It’s a unique opportunity for growth, learning, and collaboration.”
With a roster of students ranging from 17 to 59 years old, including two international participants hailing from New Zealand and Nashville, the 2024 Senior Academy boasts diversity and talent from various corners of the globe.
General Manager and fellow Golden Guitar winner Roger Corbett highlighted the impact of the Academy on emerging artists.
“The Academy has been instrumental in changing the lives of aspiring country musicians, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and mentorship needed to navigate the industry and make their mark,” he said.
