Tamworth will soon play host to the Leading the Way Matters Leadership Summit, which will bring together leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals from various industries across the region to one location.
Held by Business NSW New England North West, the event is locked in for two days next week, April 30 and May 1 at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre.
Kate Nugent, a Strategic Partnership Manager with Business NSW New England North West told the New England Times the summit is the first of its kind in the area.
She says it will be a “cornerstone in fostering leadership development and excellence” in New England, featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions, and speeches from industry experts who will share strategies, key issues, and best practices that have been highly successful in their industries.
“Participants will gain fresh perspectives and actionable insights to drive their organisations and the New England region forward amidst evolving challenges and opportunities,” Kate said.
“It’s all about trying to inspire, educate, and motivate our regional leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals, along with our emerging leaders throughout the New England Northwest.”
Among the speakers sharing their expertise are Peter Baines OAM, a leadership expert and three time best selling author, Tara Moriarty, Minister for Regional NSW Agriculture and Western NSW, Adam Arndell, a Managing Partner at C7Even Communications, and David Harding, Business NSW Executive Director.
There will also be a host of other case study and panel speakers, including Maree McKenzie, CEO of Homes North Community Housing, Stephen Doley, CEO of Challenge Community Services, Barry Harley, Manager of Events and Country Music, and many more.
For the finale, a team of Australian Business Lawyers and advisors will present the latest legislative laws that could impact regional businesses.
“They will be making a presentation in plain English speech to help everyone understand what we need to do to keep up with workplace regulations and compliance,” Kate said.
While this will be the first event, Kate promises it won’t be the last, with the leadership summit becoming a “regular on the calendar.”
Kate says Business NSW is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that advocates for Australian businesses, and this event is “effectively just a launch of its role and responsibilities as an advocate for business throughout our region.”
“It’s our role to be aware of the challenges and opportunities being faced by business,” she said.
“We see this as a chance to bring awareness to all our leaders. Just knowing how important it is that we can achieve so much more if we do have that understanding, as business and industries working together.”
