Tamworth Tri Colours (Tamworth District Junior Rugby Union Club) has announced the return of its highly anticipated annual Gala Day.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19, at Plain St Playing Fields, Tamworth, for a day filled with sporting excitement, great food, and community engagement. The event is expected to draw over 1000 attendees from across the region, including visitors from Walgett, Moree, and beyond.
The Gala Day has become a cherished tradition in the rugby community, bringing together families, rugby enthusiasts, and community members for a weekend of fun and sport.
Central to the event are the young talents aged U8 to U12, who will engage in 2-3 thrilling games throughout the day. Additionally, the U6 age group will participate in a skills and drills development session, ensuring an inclusive experience that caters to all skill levels and bolsters grassroots rugby. The gala day serves as a platform for young players to shine and create lasting memories on the field.
“We are thrilled to bring back the annual gala day,” said Matt Sedon, Club President.
“This event is a testament to the hard work and passion of our committee, club volunteers, and young rugby players.”
The club noted their appreciation for all the sponsors for making the event possible while also supporting grassroots rugby.
Tamworth Tri Colours extends a warm invitation to everyone in Tamworth and the surrounding regions to join in the rugby festivities, celebrate the talents of our young athletes, and contribute to the vibrant spirit of grassroots rugby.
“If you’ve been interested in rugby union, perhaps even keen to see the difference between rugby union and rugby league, bring the children along to see the games,” Mr Sedon said.
Please note that all children playing must be registered.
