Camping and outdoor enthusiasts get ready because the New England Outdoor Expo is coming to Tamworth’s Australian Equine & Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) this weekend, June 29 and 30.
The event promises a huge showcase of caravans, camper trailers, 4WD accessories, camping, adventure gear, new release products, expert advice and more from over 100 exhibitors.
There will also be 4WD demos, fishing shows, freestyle action sports and more. Gates open from 9am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are only available at the gate, not online.
Susie Biffin, managing director of Altitude Events, which is organizing the show, said this would be the first ever New England Outdoor Expo and it’s going to be a big one.
“We’ve got a variety of products coming, quite a few caravans, camper trailers, 4WD drive products, accessories and so much more. There will also be camp oven cooking, 4WD demonstrations, food, jumping castle for the kids, it will be a great day for everyone,” she said.
“We’ve got some big name brands coming down from Newcastle, Wollongong, Queensland, so they’re travelling from all over to come to Tamworth; if you are in the market for a van or something, then I think your day will be fairly well occupied.”
If that wasn’t enough to pique your interest, then perhaps the $3000 gate prize might. Anyone who goes to the expo is free to enter for a chance to win the prize.
According to Susie, while this is the first New England Outdoor Expo, it will likely be the start of much more to come with the location and venue allowing for growth in the future.
“We welcome people to come down and check it out; we hope to grow from here and put on more entertainment and exhibitors in the future; it’s a great venue and has the potential for us to evolve from there,” she said.
“Tamworth has a growing population, it’s halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, inland from the coast. There are a lot of shows like this in other areas, but this is a great central base.
“The town is a great hub to bring in exhibitors and visitors from the cities, out West and regional Australia. Tamworth is in the middle of it all and a great location for this kind of expo,” Susie said.
