The border town of Mungindi is back with it’s big three-day annual Show. Held across this coming weekend of 9, 10 and 11 August, 2024 promises to be another huge event for the township and all are welcome.
President of the Mungindi Show Society, Tom Orchin, said, “We trialed the 3-day format last year and it was a huge success so we’re really keen for another run at it this year.”
“We had about 1500 through the gates for 2023 which was a huge year after the couple of years off with COVID lockdowns but we’re hoping this year will be even bigger.”
All the usual Ag Show favourites will be on offer including a campdraft, yard dog trials, woodchopping and animal showing.
“This year we’ve also added a Field Day to the Friday schedule and we’ll have some guest speakers talking on various agricultural issues so we’re hoping that will get a few more people in on the Friday,” said Mr Orchin.
“We’ve also managed to hang on to our car demolition and Header Vs Picker derbies this year. Most of the shows have had to let go of them because of insurance and liability issues but they’re such a crowd pleaser.”
For the Rev Heads there will also be a ute show and barrel races, lawn mower races, monster trucks and a motorbike gymkhana.
But if you prefer something a little slower paced you can check out the cooking competition, market stalls, live music or the poet’s brunch.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a good town show without something for the little people in our lives and they’ll have plenty to enjoy with shows from Fairy Lala, pet shows, fireworks, Dorothy the Dinosaur and Chase from Paw Patrol and plenty of rides.

Tickets are on sale now via Try Booking, with a 2-day pass available for $20, or $15 for 1-day. Children under 12 are free and 12–18-year-olds are $5.
