There isn’t a lot that is free in this world, so you better listen up. Talking Threads is hosting their community fair tomorrow, and they are giving away free- yes, FREE- clothing.
“We have an abundance of clothing,” said Emily with Talking Threads Aus.
“We’ve got just over two tons of women’s wear, men’s wear and kids wear, clothing and accessories, and everything’s free.”
Everything is free. Just in case you missed it.
Delivering on the core values of the company, Emily says they’ve decided to host the event to give back to the community through kindness and generosity.
“People are doing it tough, and we just wanted to express some generosity and let people know that you can care about them.”
The event will take place at the Hillvue Scout Hall, 2A Hillview Road, tomorrow, Friday 20th September, from 10am to 3pm.
The local Talking Threads team has continued to thrive since opening their doors in October 2022, building lasting relationships in the community, including with the Weswal Gallery. And now, they want to return the favour.
“We wanted to do something practical. We were so supported when we opened, by beautiful customers, and we’ve got so many items that might not sell in-store, so here we are.”
As well as free clothing there will also be a free BBQ on the day.
“We want to get the word out and connect with the people who will need this the most and that would really benefit.”
“Take what you need, there’s no limits.”
On the flip side, if you did want to get rid of any unwanted items donation are always welcome.
The generosity keep flowing
Meanwhile, Weswal Gallery, proud partners of Talking Threads Aus, are also launching their Interior Art Prize and headstART opening night Saturday night, September 21, from 3pm.
“We have supported a program to support two emerging artists in the region,” said Emily.
“We have sponsored $2,000 to help someone starting out.”
