Uralla is the one Council area in the New England not waiting for today’s distribution of preferences. Their council was already declared in August, after the exact number of candidates nominated to fill the vacant positions.

The changes to remove the ward system will come into effect from the next election. As Uralla has a directly elected mayor, there will be no mayoral election held within council.
