Applications have reopened for the Rural Roadside Sign Project funded by the Australian Government, and Glen Innes Severn Council is inviting residents to apply by 12 December 2024.
The roadside signs are designed with enhanced visibility features, including reflective materials that ensure they stand out in low-light conditions. This added visibility is crucial during emergencies, allowing first responders to reach residents more quickly.
Key Benefits of Rural Roadside Signs:
• Enhanced Night Visibility: Reflective design for improved visibility at night.
• Improved Safety: Facilitates quicker response times for emergency services.
• Easier Access for Deliveries: Helps delivery drivers find properties without confusion.
Residents living within a speed zone of 80km/h or higher can apply for their rural roadside sign at a subsidised cost of $110 (including GST). Installation of the signs will be carried out by council staff, commencing in February 2025. This application period is open until 12 December 2024.
