Last weekend, the picturesque town of Armidale was abuzz with excitement as it welcomed over 300 families for the much-anticipated Annual St Albert’s College Parent’s Weekend, affectionately known as “Albies Parent’s Weekend.”
The festivities kicked off with an art show at the college, where parents collected their tickets amidst a backdrop of mingling families, students, and a substantial art display showcasing the creative talents of the students.
Throughout the weekend, the sporting grounds of the University of New England echoed with cheers and friendly competition as a series of sporting events unfolded.
Despite battling inclement weather, students gave their all in hockey, netball, and rugby matches, each vying for the title of victor.
The crowning jewel of the weekend was the Parents Ball, hosted within the grounds of St Albert’s College.
An impressive gathering of 800 guests came together to celebrate community spirit and support the charity of the year, Gotcha 4 Life.
The evening was not only a social highlight but also a triumph for philanthropy, with the St Albert’s Charity Committee proudly announcing that a wonderful $15,000 was raised.
The Annual Parents Weekend is more than just a series of events; it’s a significant economic booster for the Armidale community.
With the success of this year’s gathering, St Albert’s College is already looking forward to hosting another successful Parents Weekend next year, continuing a tradition that enriches both the college and the community at large.
