The Australia Day parade in Uralla this Thursday will again pay tribute to the local tradies and traders for their tireless contribution to the Uralla Shire.
The parade has been organised by Australia Day Uralla, and the Uralla Shire Council, to begin at 11am on Park St. The parade will journey to Alma Park where Australia Day festivities will be occurring throughout the day.
The tradies and traders that wish to participate in the parade must be residing and operating in the Uralla District. Participants have also been asked to complete the parade in a vehicle displaying company signage to allow onlookers to recognise the individuals and businesses they are celebrating.
Cheryl Nolan, an organiser of the event, praised the township for its comradery and explained the importance of the parade for the people of Uralla.
“There’s such a lovely feeling in the village, and our local tradies and traders are so obliging.”
“We thought we would invite them to take place in the parade so everyone could see and be reminded that they are working in the community.”
“The basic reason behind it was to show our appreciation for the great job they do and to celebrate them,” she said.
Any tradies or traders interested in participating in the parade have been asked to contact Bev Niland (6778 4328) or Cheryl Nolan (0411771026) for further details.
