The Uralla Show is set to entertain locals with an eventful program at the Uralla Showground, on Saturday 4th February, with some old favourites and new events this year.
The gates will open at 7am, with the Horse Section jump-starting the day’s events. There will be an abundance of activities to choose from throughout the day, before the experienced voice of Tamworth’s Kevin Spencer will conclude the show.
Bill Upjohn, Vice President of the Uralla District Show Society, highlighted the demolition derby as one of the crowd favourites of the past.
“The local people love cars, and Uralla was one of the first shows to have a demolition derby.”
Bill also predicted a possible new crowd favourite of the future.
“There’s been an upsurge in home brewing and home distilling, we’re running sections for that this year, and I think that’s a section that will grow,” he said.
Other events that may bring joy to the adults include shine and show, poultry section, the grand parade, and pavilion prizes.
While the kids can enjoy lolly chase, kids’ race, decorated bicycle competition, and fireworks.
Bill, and the Uralla District Show Society, urge locals to share their new ideas and innovations to continue to improve the show for the next generation.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $6 for pensioners and children, and $30 for a family.
The Uralla District Show Society is asking for volunteers to assist with the set-up and clean-up of the show. For further details, contact Bill Upjohn (02 6778 4631).
