The nominees have been announced for the 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar Awards.

Topping the list and with his first ever Golden Guitar Awards nomination is new talent James Johnston, with a total of six nominations including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. Adam Brand, Amber Lawrence, and Casey Barnes each picked up five nominations, while Tamworth local and reigning Female Artist of the Year Ashleigh Dallas has picked up four nominations.

The nominees for female artist of the year are Amber Lawrence, Ashleigh Dallas, Hayley Jensen, Lyn Bowtell and Melanie Dyer. The nominees for male artist of the year are Adam Brand, Andrew Swift, Casey Barnes, James Johnston, and Morgan Evans.

The nominees for song of the year include two songs with same title: Small Town by James Johnston and Small Town by Casey Barnes. Luke O’Shea continues the geographic theme with his nomination South East Queensland. Brooke McClymont is the only woman nominated in the song of the year category for her duet with Adam Eckersley, Star of the Show. Adam Brand rounds out the category with the title track from his album All Or Nothing, which also leads the nominations for Toyota Album of the Year.

More than 620 entries were received for the 2023 Golden Guitar Awards, which follows a record-breaking year in 2022. The full list of nominations is available here.

The Toyota 51st Golden Guitar Awards will be held on Saturday, 21 January 2023, at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre and livestreamed via the Festival website.
