Strong country women are stronger together, and the next round of the Future Women Rural Scholarships is open offering a unique opportunity to learn, network and advance your business or career.
Following the overwhelming success of previous years, the next round of the government funded program paving the way for women in regional and rural NSW makes its return this year. Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole launched the new round of the Future Women Rural Scholarship Program that aims to enable, and empower women living in regional, rural and remote NSW to achieve their goals and be given a path to reach their full potential.
This program provides 24 recipients from all corners of the state a place in the Future Women Platinum+ Program valued at $6,000, where they will take part in networking, mentoring and digital learning programs. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is an immense stepping stone in breaking down barrier’s women living in rural communities’ experience, and allowing for equal opportunity
UNE SRI Regional Connector in Moree, Phoebe Wood, couldn’t speak more highly of her experience as one of the Future Women 2022 scholarship recipients.
“Living in a rural area, I would never seek out this type of opportunity, to network with other professionally like-minded women in the city… the ongoing professional development opportunities for the remainder of the year were also amazing for keeping our group of scholarship recipients accountable.”
“Often, it’s the thought that the opportunities in the city have to come to the country to allow these things to be possible.”
“But, in allowing the country women to be a part of the city program, not only to attend the conference, but also be a part of the continual online networking group, means that the obstacles to achieving these outcomes shifted.”
Since her time with Future Women, she has stayed in contact with like-minded women from the program, keeping her connected and in touch to her professional network without having to sacrifice her life in the country nor up hall her life to the city.
“The program gave me confidence in what I was doing in my career, in knowing that what I had done thus far has been a great foundation for me in moving forward.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said 24 scholarships valued at over $6,000 each are available to women from regional, rural and remote parts of the State to develop their leadership skills.
“There are so many amazing women leading communities, leading businesses and leading critical conversations in the bush – and we want to encourage those wanting to step up and do the same.”
Applications are now open for all women living in regional, rural, and remote NSW aged 18-39 until the 16th of February. To apply or to nominate someone you know, visit https://futurewomen.com/
